New York Mayoral Candidate Forum

Hear leading mayoral candidates speak on the most pressing issues for the NYC Muslim community; immigration, domestic violence, civil rights, and COVID-19 relief. With over 1 million Muslims in NYC, Muslims make up over 10% of the NYC population, and 22% of all Muslims in America. NYC Muslims are deeply embedded within the social and political fabric of New York, and are one of the most racially and ethnically diverse groups across all five boroughs.

This event is organized by a plethora of community based organizations and faith based organizations including but not limited to: Asiyah Women’s Center (AWC), the New York Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY), the Arab American Association of New York (AAANY), Women for Afghan Women (WAW), Turning Point for Women and Families (TP), The African Immigrants’ Commission of NY & NJ, LAAL NYC, Malikah, and the Union of Arab Women (UAU).

Forum co-moderators: Rawaida Abdelaziz (Reporter at HuffPost) and Moumita Rahman (Immigration Attorney at Rahman Law & Board Member of the Asiyah Women’s Center.
